In the artificial breeding of crabs in ponds, small crabs that are small in size, grow slowly, or even stop long, live in caves or in mud for a long time, and are too lazy to come to live and feed. They only use organic matter in the soil to sustain their lives, which leads to serious malnutrition. , directly affect the crab production. To reduce the occurrence of "lazy" disease in river crabs, the following measures should be taken in the breeding process:

I. Creating a pond environment suitable for the growth of crabs

(1) The shore of the pond should be compacted, especially the new pond, to prevent the crabs from lurking in the wet environment under the large soil blocks.

(2) The bottom of the pond should be flat, and the slope of the pool wall should be around 1:3 so as not to make the crab too steep so as to cause the “lazy crab”.

(3) Transplant waterweeds in ponds, such as Hydrilla verticillata, water peanuts, etc., and transplant grassy grasses above the water level line of ponds and pool slopes for hiding and shading of river crabs.

(4) A "crab island" is built at the center of the pool, that is, a mound. Crab Island has a gradient of 30 cm to 50 cm above the water surface, accounting for about one-fifth of the total area of ​​the crab pool, for crabs to play in the water line, under the cave. The island has aquatic grass and green feed. Crab Island is one of the main places for river crab activities and for ingesting clam shells. If the crab pool is large, several crab islands can be set up.

(5) Build an artificial crab hole. At the bottom of the crab pond, pile bricks, tiles, bamboo tubes, and other objects, and build an artificial crab hole to hide cave cavities.

Second, to release young crabs with strong physique and strong activity

Generally, young crabs are suitable for a size of 100-200 eggs per kilogram, requiring a strong body and strong mobility.

Third, ensure relatively stable crab pond water level

If the water level in the rearing pond is too large, the small crab will not be able to move and burrow in the hole in the ground, and it will be too lazy to go out for food.

Therefore, we should ensure that the water quality and water level of the crab pool are relatively stable. Generally, we change the water every 7 days to 10 days in the spring and autumn, and change the water in the 2 days to 3 days in the summer. Each change of water volume is 1/1 of the pool water. 2-1/3.

Fourth, provide adequate and palatable bait for crabs

Insufficient feed or uneven feeding, some small crabs are too lazy to move and feed because of difficulty in obtaining food. Therefore, it is particularly important that the bait should contain crushed fish, shrimp, snails, palatable compound feed, and green feed. Let the crabs develop the habit of eating food.

Fifth, bait feed should be uniform

Generally, a number of evenly distributed food platforms are set on the slopes or shallow waters near the water level line of the pond and the wide crabs of the crab island to facilitate the feeding of river crabs.
