PET is one of the most important medical imaging equipments in modern medicine. Over the years, on the basis of the accumulated technology of the construction and operation of large-scale scientific devices such as the Beijing Electron-negative Collider, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has been working on the development of a new medical radiography system. In 1986, it successfully developed China’s first human body PET. From 2006 to 2012, it successfully developed the first high-precision animal PET, breast-specific PET, animal PET/CT and other radiation imaging equipment in China.
In order to improve the development level of high-end medical imaging equipment in China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Institute of High Energy have deployed new human body PET development work. The newly developed PET system uses detector technology, electronic technology and image reconstruction technology with independent intellectual property rights, and uses high-performance scintillation crystals made in China. The new human body PET system has completed assembly and commissioning and preliminary performance testing, and the test results show that it is superior to the current international commercial equipment level.
