Strawberry parasitic nematode control technology

Since nematodes are small in size and difficult to be detected, the symptoms of plant damage can easily be mistaken for viral diseases or physiological diseases, so that they cannot be used correctly and seriously affect the commercial quality and yield of strawberries. The characteristics of nematode-damaging strawberries and their effective control techniques are described below. .

First, the symptoms

1. Strawberry leaf nematode disease. The nematode does not invade strawberry tissue but feeds on the developing buds and foliage surfaces. When the leaves expand, they show shrinkage and distortion, which is smaller than normal leaves. The nematode breaks down the fruit buds during feeding and causes a serious reduction in fruit yield. When the nematode interacts with the pathogenic bacteria, the plants appear to dwarf the shoots, shrinking into about 1 cm of fleshy lotus.

2, strawberry root knot nematode disease. There are root knots of varying sizes in the roots of the affected plants. Many small milky white nematodes can be found embedded in the diseased tissue. The root system is undeveloped, lateral vegetative roots proliferate, and the growth of the shoots is weak.

3, strawberry root worm disease. The young plants are hard and brown, with elliptic lesions on the roots of the plants, yellow-brown to dark brown. The plants are dwarfed, lack vitality, and produce low yields, which are highly sensitive to soil drought.

4, strawberry stem nematode disease. The petioles are uplifted, the leaves are distorted, the flowers and fruit parts form worms, and the plants are dwarfed. The deformed tissue was dissected and a large number of nematodes were seen in the cortex or parenchyma.

Second, prevention and control technology

1, biological control. Utilize natural enemies in the soil - fungi and bacteria. Introducing beneficial bacteria into diseased plants destroys the nematode's contents and kills nematodes. Or before planting with 1.8% abamectin 3000 times watering planting points, 0.1-0.25kg per hole, and then planting cover soil, control effect of 85% -90%.

2, physical control. Before planting strawberries, the dormant mother plants were soaked in hot water at 46-55°C for 10 minutes to eliminate nematodes.

3, strengthen the cultivation and management. Elimination of diseased bodies and weeds, concentrated burning. Organic substances are added to the soil to maintain soil fertility, reasonably irrigated, and cultivate strong seedlings to enhance plant resistance and endurance. Onset plots with onions, garlic, leeks, aquatic vegetables, or grass crops for 2-3 years of rotation can effectively suppress nematodes.

4, chemical control. Sites with history of disease, before planting, with 3% Milur granules 1.5-2.0kg per acre or 10% grams of phosphoric granules 2-4kg, acupuncture or application, control effect of 85% -95 %.

Knee Warmer is using batteries as power supply, to reduce pains of the knees. It provides stable heat penetrating so as to relax fatigue caused to the knees.

It is always with velcro for fastening better, which also enhance the heat therapy effect, as it touches better to human knees.

Below picture for reference, it can be made in different shapes and designs.
