Fermentation tank maintenance knowledge

Fermentation is the process by which microbial cells themselves, or direct metabolites or secondary metabolites, are prepared by the life activities of microorganisms under aerobic or anaerobic conditions. The so-called fermentation is mostly referred to as a certain decomposition process of an organism by an organism.

The fermenter is a closed container or biological reaction device used for cultivating microorganisms or cells, and is a special device for material fermentation. Can be used for research, analysis or production. Widely used in bio-engineering, fine chemicals, food, dairy products, condiments, brewing, beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries.

According to industry insiders, after continuous fermentation of the fermenter, the fermentation product is transferred to the refining zone through the pipeline, and the fermenter needs to be cleaned and maintained before the second fermentation. The maintenance of the fermenter includes the following:

Maintenance of the mixer. Check and tighten the set screws installed in the components on the mixing shaft each time the can lid is opened.

Adjustment of the position of the upper magnet. The normal distance between the upper magnetic steel and the bottom of the tank is 1-1.5 mm. If the spacing is too small, the bottom surface of the magnetic steel will touch the tank. At this time, the stirring shaft will not rotate or the stirring shaft will jump and be accompanied by a large noise phenomenon. If the spacing is too large, the magnetic force between the upper and lower magnetic steels will be reduced. When the fermentation liquid is thick, the agitator may stop and be accompanied by large noise.

Bearing exchange. After one to two years of use, the bearing noise is significantly increased or the agitator shaft is obviously oscillated to replace the bearing. Remove the bearing bottom end cap, remove the shaft head screw and bearing gland, remove the bearing bottom end cap, remove the circlip at the lower end of the bearing housing, take the stirring shaft from the top down, take out the bearing and replace it, once again installation.

Filter filter replacement. Since the air contains a large amount of dust, after a certain period of time, the micropores on the filter element are gradually blocked, which causes a serious shortage of air flow and an increase in air pressure drop on the one hand, and may cause contamination at the same time, and needs to be replaced at this time. When not in use, remove the filter element from the air filter and drain the condensate from the filter.

Maintenance of solenoid valves. The solenoid valve is used for the cooling of the fermenter, the valve core of the solenoid valve is stuck, the failure of the valve core seal and the damage of the electromagnetic coil can cause the failure of the solenoid valve. Fault judgment: Under the normal condition of ensuring the operation of the circulating pump and the circulating pipeline, the temperature is only lowered or not increased because the solenoid valve is leaking or the spool is stuck. The other reason may be that the electric heater is burnt out.

According to the water injection switch, the water injection switch indicator light is on and the upper end surface of the solenoid valve is non-magnetic, no cooling water is discharged, the coil is broken; the water injection switch indicator light is not lit, and the F1 (Really) fuse in the control box is burnt out. The solenoid valve is closed, the cooling water leaks from the drain port, the spool seal fails or the debris catches the spool.

Maintenance of the ball valve. Since the seal in the ball valve is made of two hemispherical tetrafluoroethylene, after a long time of use, the seal and the valve core may leak, loosen the ferrule joint nut at both ends of the valve, and then tighten the valve. Cylindrical joints at both ends (normally, the valve stem should have a certain resistance).

Leakage of the ferrule joint. Tighten the cap on the street.

Air hose. To prevent accidental bursting of hoses attached to the ends of the air flow meter, it is recommended to replace the hose every two years.

In addition, after the fermentation is completed and sterilized, it should be cleaned in time. During the installation process, the air distributor should be reset, and the feed hole gasket should be replaced in time. If the bottom valve leaks, the bottom valve gasket should be replaced.
