Appropriate top dressing. For wheat fields that are underfertilized before sowing, applying fertilizer before winter wheat can consolidate the effective tillering of wheat, increase the sugar content of tiller, and enhance the ability of the plant to resist cold. Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium should be mixed after dressing, and the proportion should be appropriate. Special attention should be paid to the application of phosphate fertilizers. Partial application of nitrogenous fertilizers should be avoided so as to avoid causing leggy, making the stem tissue of the plants too soft, and reducing the resistance to cold and lodging.

Cover scorpions. Between 300-400 kg of wheat bran and crushed wheat straw are spread per acre between dry wheat rows. This method not only protects the alfalfa and prevents freezing, but also can improve the soil and fertilize the fertility after the covering is corroded. It is an effective measure for wheat to resist drought, prevent freezing, and increase production. The thickness of manure is preferably 3 to 4 cm. The soil is surrounded by roots. When the wheat seedlings are about to stop growing before wintering, the combination of ramming soil around the root can effectively prevent the wheat from freezing during the winter. In colder, dry and windy years, the antifreeze effect of rammed soil is particularly evident, and it can generally increase production by 5% to 10%.

Winter irrigation timely. Straw returned to the field or winter dry year, before the arrival of cold air, a winter irrigation. Wheat timely irrigation in winter has a significant effect of seedling preservation and yield increase. Pay attention to timely cultivating and repression after winter irrigation in order to facilitate conservation.

Timely cultivator. Time cultivating can protect droughts and prevent freezing damage. Therefore, it is more important to combine cultivators and winter irrigators in time, especially in clay land. Timely smoke. After winter, pay close attention to the changes in the weather. Before the cold current arrives, pile up wheat stubble and straw and other smoke in the fields from early evening to early morning to reduce the freezing damage.

Spraying hormones. If wheat is prosperous before winter, especially when there are signs of jointing before winter, it should be sprayed with 0.3% to 0.5% of Chlorothorin before the arrival of cold air. After the beginning of spring, we must seize the cracks in the sunny day, control the growth of the ground part of the wheat, or chase the soil miscellaneous fertilizer or mud, in order to protect the wheat's tillering section and young ears.
