Panzhihua Price soared ten times

In July 2010, prices began to soar in March. At the end of the month, 120 heads of prices rose to 236 yuan, an increase of 24.21%. Local dealers said, “Awake and wake up, the price will go up twenty or thirty yuan.” The reporter found that the main reason for the increase in prices in the past two years was the imbalance in the supply and demand market, and there were some speculations.

Li Shizhen, the Ming Dynasty pharmacist, was known as the "gold is not changed" Chinese herbal medicine - March 7, the price is continuing to rise.

The Wenshan Prefecture of Yunnan Province, which accounts for more than 90% of the country's 37 planting area, has seen ups and downs in the prices of Panax that affects the "nervousness" of more than 1,300 drug companies that use Panax notoginseng as their raw material.

Yesterday (August 1st), Tian Gang was polished, and in the 37 trading market of Wenshan Prefecture in Yunnan Province, the bustle of the city was filled with large and small woven bags in the ground. The mouths of the bags were opened and all were filled with Panax.

Shen Guangjin is more familiar with such situations. In the 1980s, he began to operate the 37 business. He witnessed the roadmap of "get favored" in March. He said he has never encountered such a high price.

In terms of the last three years alone, Panzhihua has jumped from forty to fifty yuan per catty in 2008 to five or six hundred yuan in 2011. “It is still in an upward trend.” Shen Guangjin said.

Many people in charge of pharmaceutical companies in Wenshan, who use raw materials as their raw materials, told the “Daily Economic News” reporter that due to high prices, companies are now very difficult to manage, and 30% of the factories have been forced to stop production.

Since July this year, Codonopsis, which has risen more than ten times in the same amount, has been slammed down by the National Development and Reform Commission after penalizing some dealers in the country of origin.

Today, Sanqi took over the "brake baton" that drove up the price of medicinal herbs this time, and the increase was staggering.

The price of Sanqi is high

In an interview with the reporter, local dealers said, “When I wake up, the price goes up twenty or thirty yuan.”

Shen Guangjin told the "Daily Economic News" reporter that he now has some goods on hand, with different specifications of 37, the price is not the same, 120 heads per kilogram of 360 yuan, and countless heads of 328 yuan.

According to the average price of Wenshan March 7th market in April 2011, the average price of 37 per kilogram of 120 is 372.64 yuan, and the average price of 37 per kilogram of innumerable heads is 310.89 yuan. If compared with the price in the same period of 2010, on July 1 that year, the price of 120 heads of Panax rose to 190 yuan per kg, and countless heads would be 160 yuan per kg.

In fact, in July 2010, the price of Sanqi began to soar. By the end of the month, the price of 120 in March rose to 236 yuan, an increase of 24.21%. Countless heads rose to 206 yuan, or 28.75%.

After that, such a rise was not received, which finally caught the attention of the National Development and Reform Commission. However, at that time, the inspection did not find that there was any price increase.

On July 8, 2011, a research team composed of the Ministry of Commerce, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Food and Drug Administration, the Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Association of Chinese Materia Medica, and the Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province once again conducted research on the Wensan Panax Industry.

According to the person in charge of the development of the biological resources of Wenshan Prefecture and related departments of the Panzhihua Industry Bureau, the price rise of March 7 will basically go through a cycle every seven or eight years. At the end of the 1980s, prices were running at a high level. At that time, the prices were basically over 100 yuan per catty. Since then, around 1996 and 2004, all three or seven were at the peak of price, and the signs of rising were very clear. After 2005, prices slowly fell back. Until 2009, due to various factors, the price of Panax rose again, "only rising faster."

Climate impact superposition

Wang Chengbiao, director of the Wenshan Sanqi Industry Bureau, told the Daily Economic News on the phone that the main reason for the increase in prices in the past two or three years was the imbalance in the supply and demand market, and there were some speculations.

According to the person in charge of the Bureau of Industry and Information Technology of the Bureau, the current demand for Panax notoginseng is more than 6,000 tons, of which more than 98% of the 37 are from Wenshan.

The responsible person told reporters that last year's March 7 output of Wenshan was only about 4,800 tons, far from meeting the needs of the national market. In normal years, the production capacity of Wensan’s Panax notoginseng is basically maintained at nearly 6,000 tons. The aforementioned responsible person stated that this year's output has been used for statistics, which is roughly the same level. The reason for the sharp drop in production in 2010 was a drought that lasted for several months. Statistics show that in the year, 37.67 million mu of Wenshan Sanhe suffered from the disaster, which accounted for 94.5% of the total planted area, and the output was reduced by more than 30%.

The freezing disaster at the beginning of 2009 also caused heavy damage to Wenshan, accumulating more than 40,000 mu in March and July and causing economic losses of more than 60 million yuan.

Li Yuanliang, general manager of Yunnan Xinwen Trade Co., Ltd., told reporters at the “Daily Economic News” that it was the superposition of disasters in 2009 and 2010 that made the price of Panax rose continuously. He said that he now has more than 10 tons of goods on hand. He earned more than last year for the past year. Now, the price is estimated to have dropped after new shipments in September.

Wang Chengbiao, director of the Wensan Sanqi Industry Bureau, said that according to the characteristics of the “three-year-old ripening” of the Panzhihua, a drought can affect the market for three years, so the impact of the previous drought on demand and supply of Panax would continue.

No land can produce atrophy

The reasons for the current increase in prices on March 37 have also been affected by the Wenshan planting cycle.

The reporter learned from Wenshan 37th Bureau that, in 2006, Wenshan had more than 12,000 households, more than 20,000 people planted 37, planted area of more than 120,000 mu, and 37 production was close to 10,000 tons, resulting in oversupply of market conditions.

This situation caused a sharp drop in the price of Panax pseudoginsis. The average price was only 50-60 yuan/kg. The enthusiasm of growers was frustrated, and some growers stopped planting, which led to a sharp decline in output.

In 2009, the scale of cultivation reached a low point. Only 6,843 households and 10,515 people planted 37 in the whole county, which was 63.84% and 58.47% lower than the 18,925 and 25,319 persons in 2006. The planting area and production amount were from 120,000 mu in 2006. The 8.945 million kilograms of kilograms were sharply reduced to 68,700 hectares and 4,445,500 kilograms in 2009, causing a tight supply of the raw material market.

Shen Guangjin said that due to the planting characteristics of Panax notoginseng, it will take about 10 years for each planting plant to replant. During this period, this land can be used for planting corn. Therefore, now Wenshan has no place to plant Panax pseudoginseng. Therefore, the Sanqi planters in Wenshan are worrying about finding a piece of land for planting 37 each year. According to Shen Guangjin, many people are now looking for land on the territory of Yunnan where they can plant 37 crops.

The data provided by the person in charge of the Industrial Information Division of the Wensan Sanqi Bureau is that the area of the 37 plants currently planted outside the state is approximately 20,000 mu, and these areas are basically planted by the Wenshan people.

On the other hand, the rapid expansion of the market share of March 7th has made the demand for March 7 unabated. According to statistics, only 1,302 companies in China use Panax notoginseng as their raw material, producing more than 400 products and obtaining 3,207 production approvals.

At present, the demand for the entire raw material market for Panax notoginseng is around 8,000 tons, and the demand in the foreign market is also constantly increasing. These factors directly promote the rise in raw material prices in March.

In addition, the above-mentioned person in charge analyzed that the cost of planting and growing production materials for Panax notoginseng rose sharply and the cost input increased, which also affected the price rise of Wenshan Sanqi to a certain extent.

Downstream pharmaceutical companies stop production

While growers and distributors are happy about the high prices, they are also a dignified and embarrassed company.

It is understood that Panax notoginseng is an important raw material for Chinese medicine, and there are more than 300 proprietary Chinese medicines that use Panax pseudoginseng as a raw material, covering almost all Chinese pharmaceutical companies. For example, well-known Chinese medicines produced by companies such as Yunnan Baiyao, Kunming Pharmaceutical, Tian Luxi, and Baiyunshan are all made from Panax pseudoginseng.

The rise of upstream raw materials is inevitably transmitted to downstream companies. Yunnan Jintaide Sanqi Industry Co., Ltd. mainly produces Panax notoginseng saponins, artemisinin and Xuesaitong Dripping Pills. It is the largest Sanqi pharmaceutical company in Wenshan Funing. Li Gang, general manager of the company, said that after the price rose to high levels in the March 7th, the company had to stop work. The company stopped working for more than 100 days last year, and the profit plummeted. "Originally, our gross profit margin was around 20% in about 2006, and the gross margin of finished products was still around 30%. Now our gross profit margin is a slight loss."

According to an interview with the reporter, there are 6 pharmaceutical factories in Wenshan Prefecture that use Panax notoginseng as raw materials, and 28 deep-processing companies. These companies have had a hard time.

Tang Liangping, president of the Chongqing Medical Association and chairman of the Pedetsu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. recently said that the company has also encountered the problem of excessive increase in raw materials for Chinese medicine and high production costs. For example, the company’s “back and leg pain capsules” made of Panax notoginseng now cost 7 to 8 yuan per box, while the tender purchase price is only 4 yuan and it has to stop production.

At present, many pharmaceutical companies, including Yunnan Baiyao and Tian Lishi, have no choice but to sign a memorandum and prepare to establish a Chinese medicine industry base and a warehousing platform.

The reporter was informed that in front of the high price of Panax, there are now more than 30% of Chinese pharmaceutical companies that use Panax notoginseng as their raw materials.

According to information provided by the March 7th Bureau of Wenshan Prefecture, the average price of raw materials for Panax pseudoginsii is stable at around 250 yuan/kg, which is reasonable. Based on this, properly adjusting the prices of products based on Panax pseudoginseng can only rationalize the planting of Panax plantings. , circulation, processing of the three links of interest.

At the same time, the State's March 7 Bureau recommended that the government should establish a raw material reserve mechanism for Wensan Sanchi as soon as possible to play a “reservoir” role, cultivate and set up the circulation business entities, reasonably regulate the supply of raw materials for March 7, and regulate market prices so as to promote Wensan Sanchi Industry. healthy growth.
