Lubricant quality simple test method

Lubricating oil is a commonly used lubricant for agricultural machinery, which helps the better operation of agricultural machinery. The quality of lubricants has a great influence on the performance and service life of agricultural machinery.
In the current market, like the quality of agricultural machinery products, a large number of counterfeit and inferior lubricants are still banned. Fake and shoddy products will cause great harm to agricultural machinery. The vast majority of pilots do not have the necessary equipment to verify the quality of the oil. They can only be used according to their own experience or the introduction of others. These experiences are often not very reliable.
Now introduce some simple inspection methods for the quality of lubricants:
First, the impurities into the test tube to observe whether there are suspended particulate impurities. High-viscosity lubricating oils are dark in color and poor in transparency, and suspended impurities are not easily detected. At this time, the lubricating oil can be diluted with gasoline or diesel and observed.
Second, the viscosity will be tested in accordance with the quality standards of lubricants installed in test tubes, and use cork and wax seal, do not fill, to leave about 5 mm high space. Put the oil to be tested in another test tube. The size of the test tube and the amount of oil used should be the same as those of the previous test tube. Also use a cork stopper and wax seal. At the same time, invert the two test tubes to observe the rising speed of the air bubbles. . If the bubble rises faster than the standard lubricant, the viscosity of the oil is low. On the contrary, the viscosity is high.
Third, the lubricating performance Lubricating oil lubrication performance and the viscosity of the lubricating oil. Generally speaking, there is no viscosity or viscosity reduction, which means that the lubricating properties of the lubricating oil have deteriorated. After the lubricating performance of the lubricating oil is reduced, the adhesiveness or adhesiveness also deteriorates accordingly, so that an oil film with sufficient strength cannot be formed, and a good lubricating effect is not obtained. Lubricant performance of the test: the thumb and forefinger stained with lubricating oil rub against each other, if sticky feeling. It can be concluded that this lubricating oil has better lubricating properties. If there is a feeling of astringent, it can be concluded that the lubricant has lost its proper lubrication properties.
IV. Moisture Lubricate the lubricant in a test tube and observe its transparency. If it is not clear and transparent, but rather turbid, you can initially determine the presence of moisture in the lubricant. To determine whether there is moisture in the oil, there are two reliable methods:
1. Put the oil to be tested into the test tube. The volume of oil is two-thirds of the volume of the test tube. The cuvette was sealed with cork and wax and heated on an alcohol lamp. If air bubbles appear, a “beep” or “beep” sound is emitted at the same time, and water droplets are condensed on the wall of the test tube above the oil level, indicating that water is present in the oil.
2. Place anhydrous sulfated steel (white powder) into a test tube filled with lubricating oil. If the copper sulphate changes from white to blue, this can also prove that there is moisture in the oil. These two methods can not give the number of moisture content, can only be estimated based on the number of bubbling in the heating process of the lubricating oil and the amount of copper sulfate added.
