Fault Analysis of Large Capacity Centrifuge Rotor

Among the many factors of centrifuge damage, rotor load imbalance testing or tube insertion asymmetry is a common cause. The zone rotor does not need to be balanced, but in the process of loading and sampling, it is necessary to ensure the balance of the rotor. This ensures that the entire pipeline is unblocked, and the gradient liquid and sample distributed in each sector are evenly distributed. The angle rotor and the split rotor require that the centrifuge tube, casing, sample and cap be placed together on the balance for weighing and balancing.

The mass imbalance of the rotating system is the main cause of vibration, and among the many factors that cause the damage of the centrifuge, the rotor loading imbalance test or the asymmetry of the test tube insertion is a common cause.

The key to the successful use of vertical rotors (including angular rotors), especially in the use of ultracentrifuges, is the sealing of the centrifuge tubes. During the centrifugation of the vertical rotor, the cap is subjected to the pressure of the liquid in the tube. In addition to ensuring a good seal, the fitting of the cap, the centrifuge tube and the rotor is ensured, so that the amount of air in the tube is reduced to less, so that the centrifuge tube can be The degree of collapse is reduced to small.

Causes the rotor to be unbalanced During the rotation of the rotor, the center of the rotor tends to rotate around a certain center, resulting in synchronous center rotation, both precession. The reason for this is that the design speed is relatively close and the rotor (including the centrifuged sample) is eccentric. Improper operation can also cause the rotor to be unbalanced and precession. There are several cases.

1. Although the test tubes are placed symmetrically, the density of the solutions contained in the corresponding tubes is different, resulting in a difference in the mass distribution of the substances contained in the opposite tubes.

2. The method of installing the rotor is not correct. Especially when the rotor is stuck on the main shaft, the rotor must not be pulled with a hard object or with a certain angle to the shaft.

3. During the rotation process, the installation is eccentric due to wear and deformation of the rotating parts.

4. During maintenance and repair, the replacement parts and the original parts have differences in weight and installation parts, or the rotor in the collision rotation will make the rotation of the rotor unstable.

According to the experience of Yingtai centrifuge manufacturers for many years, for the angular rotor of high-speed refrigerated centrifuge and low-speed large-capacity refrigerated centrifuge, as long as the processing technology is strict and reasonable, only the bottom balance of the rotor is sufficient, even without balancing .
