Beijing: "Yuerun" and other branded ducks were suspended from selling due to excessive number of colonies

The reporter learned from the Beijing Food Safety Office on the 4th that 11 kinds of unqualified foods were sold out of Beijing, including 4 brands such as “Yurun”. The random inspection by the industrial and commercial department found that the total number of colonies of “Yurun” old Beijing ducks reached 13 times the standard value.

The Beijing Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce recently conducted random inspections on some foods on the market, and found 11 unqualified samples. Among them, the “Yurun” brand old Beijing roast duck produced by Beijing Yurun Meat Processing Co., Ltd. was detected at the China Resources Vanguard Dongzhimen Store of China Resources Supermarket Co., Ltd., and the total number of colonies measured was 650,000 CFU (Colony-Forming Units). The person in charge of the Beijing Food Safety Office stated that the total number of colonies indicates the quality of food hygiene. If a person eats a food whose total number of colonies exceeds the standard, he or she may easily cause gastrointestinal discomfort, diarrhea and other symptoms. The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Industry and Commerce reminded that the above unqualified foods require stop of sales. Consumers who have purchased unqualified foods may request returns from the sales unit with shopping tickets and food packaging.
