The Qingping pigs produced in Dangyang City, Hubei Province, are famous Chinese black pig breeds that combine the excellent characteristics of local pig breeds in China. They are one of the seven excellent local pig breeds that have been preserved by the country. They have strong fertility and short gestation periods. The estrus was obvious, and the breeding was easy to be affected by the fetus. The effective teats were 7-9 pairs, and the nests produced 13.57 heads. The pregnancy period was 111.51 days. Plains, lakes, hills, and mountains can be raised. The Qingping Pig Breeding Farm in Dangyang City, Hubei Province, is the only Qingping pig preservation and breeding farm in China. It is a state-level animal and poultry breed resource farm and was designated as a state-level key breeder farm in 1993 by the Ministry of Agriculture. In 1999, the Ministry of Agriculture issued the "License for the Production of Livestock and Poultry". There are 300 basic sows in the field, which can provide Qingping pure-breed sow and Daqing and Changqing sow hybrids for 2 years. Daqing and Changqing sows are high-quality female mothers designated and promoted in the high-quality Sanyuan pig project in Hubei Province.
