Spring sown potato seed potatoes safe winter

In order to enable early sowing of the spring sown potato, morning market, increase production and economic benefits, it is required to prepare seed potatoes before the winter of the previous year and sow germination in early spring. The potato seed potato belongs to special seeds. If it is frozen or suffers from rotten seeds and germinates prematurely during storage, it will bring great economic losses to the farmers. Therefore, the winter storage of seed potatoes will become an important part of the bumper harvest in the coming year.
Seed storage can be divided into three stages:
1. The first stage (from buying seeds to freezing before). The key to this issue is the strict selection of potatoes. After the seeds are shipped back, the bags should be immediately dumped, and the bags should be removed from the diseased, injured or rotted pieces. The remaining good potatoes should be air-dried so that the skins can be fully dried and then placed in a breathable mesh bag or sack without ventilation. In a dry room, the temperature requirement at this stage is kept above 0°C, the lower the better.
2. The second phase (from early December to late January). This period is the critical period for storage, and it is necessary to control the temperature and humidity. Seed storage temperature is 2 °C ~ 4 °C, below 0 °C to be frozen, above 5 °C will be early germination, but also the risk of rotten species, so this stage is to ensure that frostbite, storage temperature control If it is not high, the humidity should be kept at 85% to 90%.
3. The third stage is the germination period (from late January to late February). Since the second season cropping area is suitable for planting from the end of February to the beginning of March, the seed potatoes should be poured out of the bag during this period and re-selected again to store the intact healthy seed potatoes in order to facilitate natural sprouting of seed potatoes, such as It will be very helpful to grow Miao Qi and Miao Zhuang after sowing.
